July 23rd, 2011AdoptedADOPTEDName: Starz AngerColor: BlackSex: MaleDOB: 9-9-06Cat Safe: yesStarz has been in the WV adoption kennel over one year since retiring from the track. He is so looking forward to a permanent soft place to call his own.7/26/2011 Update:Starz Anger/Willie’s new family recently emailed his OGGA foster family to let them know he is doing well:“Just a quick note to let you know Willy is doing great. No problems at all. He runs up and down the steps multiple times a day. We have not used the muzzle. He and Geoffrey get along well. Willy loves to go on walks. We have left him alone without putting him in the crate for one to two hours at a time and he has done well. You did a great job as foster parents because he is the best, most laid back, friendly, eager to please dog we have ever had”.Tags: greyhound-adoption, greyhounds, OH, Racer, Retired, WheelingFoster Mom Update:
I am only loving him to death….he is in no crate ..not even the first night…he has not had his operation (neuter) yet but he is so docile…I hope he is not here for long though because everyday WILL get harder….I capitalized Will because Diane said John thought that would be a good name for him so I am trying it…he comes in from outside before all the others and takes the cot next to his crate and sometimes he lays in the crate with the gate open…what do you think of that?

Sometimes I have been calling this sweetheart Star ..sometimes Angie with a hard G…that is what he seems to come to….no crate was used last night…he slept on a comforter next to my bed and never woke until 4:45 when Tornado woke us…he likes to be with Romeo…I wonder if they know each other, since Wendy said he has been at the track for a year..and Rome we got Rome this summer…he was only in the crate while I was getting bathed this morning…and he waited patiently..catches on very fast…hmmmm wonder he he ran as fast..lol

Why hasn`t anyone wanted this black beauty? Here we have a black male with white almost his twin we got from Jacksonville,Florida–his name is Felix. It would be great to have the two of them to run together in our back yard then relax together as our couch hogs(we move so as not to bother them)We will be filling out an application soon with a special interest in Starz Anger.

Sharon,
He is perfect…he is just a treasure that has not been recieved yet…I fostered, him for a couple of weeks when we first got him…he was sweet from the very first..Diane and John is fostering him now for she picked him as one she wanted to come out of the kennel..if she did not come get him I would have flunked fostering…and I have 3 now soon to be a 4th one coming.. -

We talked to Felix and he wanted to know does he do anything silly like himself–like running in circles when he is excited? Or does he look vicious because he smiles a lot showing all his teeth and he talks to his humans all the time(he has to tell us what he wants)and he loves to be with his people as much as possible?(even if he is not as silly as himself Mr.Felix as long as he likes to run about once a day we would like him)Even as I type this he is watching and talking to me– he is telling us to submit an application for adoption I told him we would he then went to lay down to wait for his brother.

Sharon,
Ohio Greyhound Gathering and Adoption board members considered your request to adopt Starz Anger from us. Because you reside in Indianapolis you are outside the designated 50 mile area OGGA adopts to. So I am sorry you may not adopt Starz Anger. There are many retired-racing greyhounds in need of forever homes so if you are truly interested in greyhound adoption please consider adopting from a organization closer to your home.
And don’t worry about Starz Anger, currently he is in a foster home with other greyhounds and enjoying the love that he deserves.

Dear Santa,
This is Starz Anger. My foster parents named me Willie. I answer to that name. I like it better than Starz Anger.
For Christmas I would really like a forever home. I know fosters aren’t suppose to be on the couch or bed, but after a year in the kennel in a crate, the bed and couch are delightful. But I don’t really need that if I have a soft bed on the floor.I get along well with my foster sister and 2 foster brothers. I love to have attention from my foster mom and dad. Of course, I love treats. I recently learned the pet door at my foster home, but don’t really need one at my forever home because I can hold it a fair amount of time. I learned to play with toys, but am mostly a very laid back boy.
Thank you for reading my letter,
Love Willie -

Sure wish we could have get him. Anyway, we”ll try another agency. Felix says thanks for at least considering us. He sure is disappointed.

I cannot believe this beauty has not been adopted yet. He is so gorgeous that the pictures do not do him justice. He is a sweetheart.

How do you think he would do with small children, 3 and 5 years old?

I saw this beautiful boy today and was so suprised at how calm and loving he seemed to be. I cannot wait until I am prepared to get a Greyhound of my own.
