2012 was another successful year for Celtic Club of Ohio’s Annual St. Pet’s Food Drive.

People donated nearly 2000 pounds of pet food (along with cat litter) at their local fire departments. The donations benefited humane/animal rescue groups in Summit, Stark and Portage Counties.

OGGA President, Pat Tidwell with Rose Cazantzes, also a member of OGGA.

On April 7, 2012 members from local animal rescue organizations gathered at the Stark County Dog Warden’s office for the pet food to be distributed.

Rescue organizations were also requested to take pet food and/or cat litter for people in their community that could benefit from some.

Timken High School students raffled off four $25 Petsmart gift cards to food drive participants.

OGGA was grateful to receive a Petsmart gift card which was then donated to Erie Shore Greyhound to help an unemployed greyhound owner in that group.

Dolly was raised in the owners house instead of the kennel. The owners even wrote a note and asked if the new family would keep them updated and thanked whoever raises her for the rest of her life for giving her a good home.

They had cats at home also. So that litter was raised with cats. Dolly had the cat laying on her back and no problem.

UPDATE…Penguin..whom I call Pengy which Aunt Jeanie Miller gave him and it fits him perfect..no crate, no accidents and eats with the others and doesn’t go in their dishes..perfect boy..as you can see, he loves his toys and likes to play with balls and throw them around..never had a grey do that before..I love him Val..but I have to make this fostering work….it’s tough because he is so content with us..I leave the house and he greets me at the door with the others..he is BLISS!!

Foster Parent Update:

3/31/2012—Didi is doing really well and learning fast. She is totally cat safe and does well with children. She’s a great dog and I would love to adopt her myself, but I feel that 3 may be too much for me. She is available for adoption and I will have her at Petsmart this Sunday, 4/1, for the meet and greet.

3/12/2012–Didi is doing really well. She slept straight through the night on the futon beside my bed. Never made a peep. She’s getting along great with the cats and with Molly and Mojo. She ate a little last night and more this morning. She found one of Mojo’s toys and has claimed it for herself. I gave all three of them bathes this morning, Didi still had some track funk to her. She seems happy.

The kennel track set up a vet appointment to have Monday’s right rear leg rechecked before OGGA picked him up (track fracture). The vet report said he is healing fine and may limp for a good while but will be able to use it fine.

Monday is a big boy & big sweetheart.

He dislikes going up and down steps but he does not have much choice here at his foster house since there are 3 steps at either exit.

UPDATE:

4/7/2012—Monday is a sweetheart. Monday is no trouble at all, He is very laid back and is really smart. Monday may not do well with a family that has small children. His leg is still very gimpy and I would not want him to get hurt by a child falling on him.
