THE GREYHOUND GATHERING WILL BE HELD TODAY, 9/11, AS SCHEDULED.

Scattered Showers are in the forecast.—-If the greyhounds don’t mind a little wet weather we sure don’t! So come out and have a good time with all of us!

Stark County Humane Society’sAnnual Mutt Strut

When: Sunday, October 3, 2010

Time: 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Registration at noon; the walk begins at 2:00 p.m.

Join OGGA members and our hounds for a two-mile walk to raise money for the Stark County Humane Society.

10th Annual Greyhound Gathering

OGGA’s annual Greyhound Gathering is growing ever closer. Bring along a blanket and/or lawn chair(s) so that you can be comfortable during the festivities at Louisville Community Park Sunday, September 19th from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. If you have always wanted to get to meet these sleek racing dogs up close come out and join us. We will also have greyhounds up for adoption.

A concession stand serving grilled hamburgers and hot dogs, a bake good stand with delicious homemade sweet treats that you can enjoy while watching the greyhound events. Shelbi’s Sweets and Treats will be supplying Frosty Paws for the hounds along with Ice Cream treats for their human companions.

Crown Collars will be there with their newest line of “bling” for your hound. The Barkery will have baked goodies for your hound to enjoy during the event and to take home after. Local T-shirt vendor Graphic Garb will offer printed greyhound related-t-shirts, sweatshirts and accessories. A local glass painting artist, Terry Green, owner of Window Paintings will have a variety of his hand painted designs for purchase.

Photographer, Phillip D. Roeser, owner of The Studio will be available to take photographs of greyhounds and their families. He will be offering a variety of packages to choose from so take advantage of this time to get some beautiful photos taken of member of the family. If you get a photograph you especially adore Terry Green can put it on glass for you.

August 14th at Elder Beerman in Alliance 10-2 Kids Day

September 10th, 11th and 12th at PetSmart on Dressler 10-4 Adoption Weekend

September 19th at Wildwood Park in Louisville, this is our Reunion and picnic 11-3

October 3rd at Hoover Park, North Canton 12-5 Mutt Strut

Another membership meeting is schedule for August 29th at Russ and Wendy’s house following a covered dish lunch at 12:00 to discuss the final plans for the reunion.

9th Annual Pet Expo

Admission is FREE! Parking is FREE!

OGGA will have a booth set up selling collars and leases. There will also be t-shirts, sweatshirts and decals available for people to purchase.

OGGA members will have be there with their foster greyhounds that are up for adoption.

Fellow animal lover Dick Goddard will be on hand to sign autographs and talk with people.

Many local animal shelters and non-profit organizations will also be at the event with their adoptable animals. Vendors will be on hand selling just about anything an animal lover can think of. Click 2010 Pet Expo Flier for a list of the vendors attending the event.

All proceeds will go to local animal shelters.
