OGGA is a very small group of volunteers that work hard throughout the year running annual events such meet & greets, the August Gathering, home visits with prospective adopters and so many other things required to keep this organization up and running.

If you are a regular to our events you may know the faces but not the names so here are a few of them that are busy with our Winter events.

Santa (Gene Miller) with Rose Cazantzes —These two are the social directors always getting the word out about greyhound adoption.

Rose, Jean Miller (aka Mrs. Claus) and Kim Gallina — Pet Supplies Plus Meet & Greets among many other duties. —- Rose also takes many of the photographs used here and Facebook during events. And she answers my various questions so I can add them to our website. —- Jean has done it all during her years in greyhound adoption. Now days she helps all of us where it’s needed.

Santa with Wendy Eaton — Pet Supplies Plus events and chief paper pusher and answerer to all greyhound and OGGA questions I (Valerie) ask during the year.

Pat Middleton — spent Dec 1st at Frosty’s Boutique at Marlington High School. Also one of the ladies you will see at Pet Supplies Store Meet & Greets.

Larry Middleton, in addition to supporting his wife Pat, you can find Larry volunteering at various events and talking about greyhounds with people interested in learning about the breed.

Scott Oberlin — handles all the OGGA photography at the Easter Bunny, Greyhound Gathering, and with Santa events.

Art Frank — volunteers at various events throughout the year.

Karen Martin — PetSmart Meet & Greets. Enjoys talking with people about greyhounds and recruiting others to foster a recently retired greyhound.

Pat Tidwell, PetSmart and other OGGA events.

In addition the ones here there are additional volunteers you will see at OGGA events.  Without all these wonderful people we wouldn’t be able to do what we enjoy, finding homes for recently retired racing greyhounds.

Thank You to all our greyhounds that can be roused to help at events throughout the year.  If it were not for them you probably would”t even pay attention to the humans.

Rose and Karen with greys Piper and Joanie

Rose and Karen with greys Piper and Joanie at the annual Elder Beerman Community Days.

9/16.2015 Update from Michelle Miller:

“For those of you praying for Karen Miller speedy recovery in the hospital…Today she is awake, alert and has had the tube removed and she is speaking! She is on the road to recovery!! At this point, still touch and go”.

OGGA would like everyone to keep our friend, Karen Miller, in your thoughts and prayers during the coming days,  she is currently in the critical care unit fighting a life-threatening infection.

Many of you know Karen, her husband Doug and their two greyhounds Piper and  Amber.  They volunteer at many of OGGA’s events, such as Elder Beerman, Meet & Greets and the annual Greyhound Gathering.

Karen will be greatly missed at tomorrow’s Gathering, it will be the first one she has been unable to attend since OGGA was founded.

Your friends at OGGA will miss seeing you & the girls walking around the reunion, greeting everyone tomorrow.  All our love, thoughts and prayers go out to you, Doug and your family.
