Members from OGGA made the trip to Wheeling WV greyhound track yesterday and brought home some new sweeties.  The 3 new arrivals were given their baths, flea & tick treatments along with lots of lovin’ and treats upon their arrival in Louisville OH.

The greyhounds will get their Veterinary Exams along with being neutered/spayed over the next week.  Then they will be ready for adoption into a loving forever home.

Also check our other greyhounds up for adoption:  Braska Jed (M),  Gable Leonardo (M) and Gable Terk (F).  And OGGA will be getting two additional fawn males Saturday July 3rd so check back for that information.

Vega Star Pedigree Info

Foster Parent Update: Here are some pictures of Vega. As you can see, she’s a real playful girl. She is really sweet, but is not small animal safe. She can go up steps, but isn’t real sure about going down the steps. She has a lot of energy, and likes to counter surf.

Update from Rosie (aka Barbra) and Kaleb’s new family: we don’t call her Barbra…..just Rosie!  She doesn’t even answer to Barbra because ever since she came home, I only call her Rosie.
We didn’t really change their names too much.  The only difference that I made with Rosie’s is

Rosie, Kaleb, John & Tim

that her full name has now been changed to:  Stevie Rose Marie, and Kaleb’s is: Kaleb Lynn.  My partner, John, wanted the “Lynn” part in honor of my late KatieLynn, my brindle grey, that passed away Sept. 1, 2009.

Other than that, they are both doing well, love being with each other, they play and race around my backyard endlessly, and then they come into the house and crash for a couple of hours until it’s time to do it all over again.
When I’m at work, they spend their day in their crates, side by side, so they don’t get loney and my housekeeper pops in from time to time to check on them and make sure everything’s ok.  But when I’m home, they’re out in the yard doing all sorts of things and by nightfall, they’re both pretty exhausted!  I don’t have to work too much getting them to go to their respected crates for bedtime!

In 2009  The Greyhound Project committed the financial support to help raise the public’s awareness of  greyhounds by having April designated as National Adopt-a-Greyhound month.  QUESTION & ANSWER ABOUT GREYHOUNDS AS PETS

The objective is for greyhound organizations to go out into their local areas to make people aware of what is happening with the dogs due to excessive breeding, track closings, and the economy.

The Greyhound Project encourages organizations to use this month to help get the word out using newspaper and TV press releases;  meet and greets; and going into schools, libraries, boy & girl scout organizations.

So this month make sure to get the word out about adopting a greyhound.  They make GREYT Pets!

Ricos Barbra Rosa

ADOPTED 3-21-2010

Ricos Barbra Rosa

Color:     Fawn
Sex:         Female
DOB:       7/4/2007
Cat Safe: No

Barbra did not race, she was a Brood Mama who had a couple of litters of little greyhounds.

ADOPTED 3-21-2010

A pleasant girl, not a big eater and very loving.  She saw her own reflection in the TV screen and kept looking behind to see where the other dog is at. Roza is the sweetest girl. Very smart. She will come in the doggie door but not out it yet. She does not understand stairs too well yet either. Her tail is wagging all the time and she loves everyone and all the dogs.
